Thai Yoga Massage
An ancient healing art, Thai Yoga Massage was traditionally practiced in the temples or 'Wats', and was seen as a physical application of the Buddhist term 'Metta' or 'Loving Kindness'.
Often referred to as 'Applied Yoga', Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is a powerful full-body massage. Flowing and rhythmical, it combines gentle stretching and acupressure.
Working on a system of energy lines or 'sen', hands, feet and elbows are used to apply pressure to the clothed body, while moving it through a sequence of yoga-based stretches. This helps to stimulate the flow of vital energy, to release blockages and restore the body's natural balance.
A deeply relaxing massage, it can help to ease tension and stiffness, increasing mobility and calming the mind, to bring about a sense of well-being and harmony.
Loose, comfortable clothing should be worn for the massage, which takes place on a futon on the floor.
Please do not eat a large meal for at least 2 hours beforehand, and drink plenty of water afterwards.
